VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage V5.5

This hands-on training course explores installation, configuration, and management of VMware vSphere®, which consists of VMware ESXi™ and VMware® vCenter Server™. This course is based on versions of ESXi 5.5 and vCenter Server 5.5.

Target Audience:

  • System administrators
  • Systems engineers
  • Operators of ESXi and vCenter Server

Further to this, delegates must have practical experience working with vSphere and be prepared to undertake further self study to ensure best chances of passing the VCP-DCV exam.

 

 Prerequisites:

Please note: Effective 17th of March 2014 all VMware course materials will only be available to delegates in e-courseware format. VMware will email delegates with instructions on how to access their e-book entitlement no less than 48 hours before their course is due to take place. If you have an existing VMware MyLearn account it is imperative that you notify QA of the email address you have registered to this account.

Those delegates who are attending via either virtual or extended classroom will be required to provide either dual monitors or single monitor plus a tablet device.

Technical prerequisites

  • System administration experience on Microsoft Windows or Linux operating systems.
  • Understanding of concepts presented in the VMware Data Center Virtualization Fundamentals course for VCA-DCV certification.

  • Manage access control using vCenter Server
  • Monitor resource usage using vCenter Server
  • Manage VMware vSphere® High Availability, VMware vSphere® Fault Tolerance, and VMware vSphere® Data Protection™ using vCenter Server
  • Apply patches using VMware vSphere®Update Manager™
